Durante il workshop del 2010 è nato Sleipnir Ratatoskr (video+foto).
Quest’ultima opera della serie Sleipnir omaggia lo scoiattolo Ratatoskr, che nella mitologia norrena percorre instancabilmente e con fulminea velocità l’albero Yggdrasill dalle radici, dove si annida il serpente Níðhöggr, sino alla sommità dei rami, dove sta una grande aquila, facendo da tramite per le male parole che i due si scambiano incessanti. Ratatoskr rappresenta la velocità, suo compito è permettere che l’antagonismo fra cielo e terra, fra bene e male, fra sfera spirituale e sfera materiale non si interrompa mai.
During the workshop of 2010 Sleipnir Ratatoskr was born.
This work is devoted to the Norse mythology character Ratatoskr, a squirrel that runs tirelessly and with lightning speed from the Yggdrasil tree roots, where lurks the snake Níðhöggr until the tops of branches, where there is a great eagle. Ratatoskr represents speed, its task is to allow the antagonism between heaven and earth, between good and evil, between the spiritual and material sphere is never interrupted.

Il 28 agosto AtelierFORTE parteciperà con l’opera Sleipnir Albus (video+foto) alla serata inaugurale di KM 607 Milano – Roma, la prima mostra postuma di Ettore Michele Sguera. Durante la serata l’artista Pietro Pirelli invierà la sue suggestioni sonore e visive,attraversostrumenti di sua invenzione:Gli IDROFONI, con i quali interpreterà alcune opere di Ettore Michele Sguera. Sleipnir Albus, struttura lignea di 15 metri di altezza, è collocato sulla piazza principale di Capalbio (GR), Piazza della Provvidenza, accanto alla galleria Il Frantoio.
AtelierFORTE participate at the opening night of 607 km Milan – Rome, the first posthumous exhibition of Ettore Michele Sguera. During the evening the artist Pietro Pirelli will send its suggestions sound and vision through instruments of his invention: the hydrophones. Sleipnir Albus, wooden structure of 15 meters, is located on the main square of Capalbio, Piazza della Provvidenza, next to the Galleria Il Frantoio.
La rivista Wired annuncia per il mese di settembre lo speciale sulla mostra Ailati. Italia 2050, a cui AtelierFORTE ha contribuito con l’opera Sleipnir Convivalis Quintus, un modellino in legno in scala 1/5 di un ipotetico e futuribile luogo del gusto, del benessere, e del piacere.

History
DUILIO FORTE – Artista di origine italiana e svedese, si laurea in architettura presso il Politecnico di Milano, svolge attività di ricerca nel campo dell’arte con particolare attenzione alla dimensione spaziale. La sua opera è finalizata alla realizzazione della scenografia del quotidiano, l’universo epico in cui si muovono gli esseri umani. L’esperienza pratica della tradizione svedese con l’attenzione alla natura ed alla semplicità si fondono con il grande respiro e complessità della storia e della cultura artistica italiana. Fin dall’infanzia ha vissuto il contrasto tra le due culture come stimolo per la ricerca di una sintesi creativa, una dimensione spazio temporale dove possono convivere i due mondi. Per questo lancia il 12 febbraio 2009 in occasione dei 200 anni della nascita di Darwin, il movimento ArkiZoic. Il manifesto ArkiZoic delinea i capisaldi di uno stile artistico fondato sulla centralità dello spirito vitale, di quel soffio, anemos, che da 450 milioni di anni caratterizza in modo inequivocabile il nostro pianeta. AtelierFORTE si distingue nell’uso di due materiali principali: il legno ed il ferro.
MATERIALI – Il legno principalmente nello sviluppo delle grandi opere architettoniche come nella serie Sleipnir, il mitico cavallo di Odino dalle otto zampe, che si fonde con la tradizione del cavallo di Troia sia per espugnare fortezze ed arsenali, che per scivolare leggero sulla laguna di Venezia o nei laghi del Bergslagen svedese. Il ferro domina invece nella plastica scultorea. I due materiali legandosi insieme creano opere con caratteristiche speciali. Strutture leggere e al tempo stesso molto resistenti. Due materiali antichi che concorrono alla definizione di un mondo proiettato nel futuro con radici profonde nel passato, nella storia e nella tradizione.
ATELIER FORTE – E’ uno spazio in continuo sviluppo e mutazione dove nascono i progetti e le opere che concorrono a definire lo stile ArkiZoic. L’atelier è il luogo fisico in cui la contaminazione tra i diversi campi dell’arte e della cultura costituisce un atto creativo. I personaggi che animano gli spazi, come attori che interpretano il proprio ruolo, concorrono con varie competenze e capacità al compimento dell’opera, come avviene nel cinema o nel teatro.
LOGO – Il Logo di AtelierFORTE è la sintesi di alcune delle caratteristiche fondanti: i tre assi cartesiani, con il cubo al centro per rappresentare la tridimensionalità, ovvero la principale sfera d’azione dell’Atelier, un FORTE rinascimentale visto dall’alto, con i suoi bastioni stellari e l’espansione in tutte le direzioni delle tre frecce. La forma triangolare del logo fa riferimento al Delta greco, iniziale di DVILIVS (da duellum, forma arcaica di bellum, guerra) quarta lettera dell’alfabeto greco dai contenuti simbolici che richiamano il termine “porta”, quindi apertura e passaggio. Infatti graficamente la lettera Delta è basata su un glifo degli alfabeti della media Età del Bronzo, probabilmente chiamato dalt, cioè porta (delet nell’ebraico moderno), basato su un geroglifico che rappresenta una porta.
Dal 2003 organizza ogni anno il corso estivo StugaProject nella foresta svedese. Nel 2008 partecipa con l’opera Sleipnir Venexia alla XI Biennale di Architettura di Venezia.
Nel 2009 un’ampia retrospettiva dell’attività dell’Atelier viene presentata all’interno della Sala della Scherma presso la Fortezza da Basso a Firenze dove sugli spalti del Sangallo svetta con i suoi 19 metri di altezza l’opera Sleipnir Florentia.
Il 12 settembre 2009 in occasione dei 90 anni della presa di fiume da parte di Gabriele d’Annunzio e dei suoi 2500 legionari, AtelierFORTE realizza l’opera Sleipnir Nuncius presso il Vittoriale degli italiani a Gardone Riviera.
I lavori, pubblicati su numerose riviste italiane ed estere, testimoniano un’evoluzione continua.
DUILIO FORTE – DVILIVS is an half Italian and half Swedish artist, he graduated in architecture at the Politecnico di Milano and conducts research in art with an emphasis on spatial dimension. His work is finalized to implementation of the design of everyday life, the epic universe in which humans move. The practical experience of the Swedish tradition with attention to the nature and simplicity come together with the large scale and complexity of Italian history, culture and art. From childhood he lived the contrast between the two cultures as a stimulus for finding a creative synthesis, a space-time dimension where the two worlds can coexist. For this on February 12, 2009 on the occasion of 200 years of Darwin’s birth, hi launch the movement ArkiZoic. The ArkiZoic manifesto trace the guidelines for an artistic style based on the centrality of the spirit of life, breath, Anemos, which from 450 million years ago characterizes unequivocally the planet earth. AtelierFORTE differs in the use of two main materials: wood and iron.
MATERIALS – wood is mainly used in the development of large buildings such as the series Sleipnir, the legendary eight-legged horse of Odin that blends with the tradition of Trojan horse, able to conquer fortresses and arsenals, and to slip slightly over the lagoon of Venice and lakes of Bergslagen Swedish. On the other hand the iron dominates in the plastic sculpture. By binding, these two materials together create works with special features. Lightweight structures and yet very durable. Two ancient materials that contribute to the definition of a world projected into the future with deep roots in the past, in history and tradition.
AtelierFORTE – is a space in constant development and mutation where the projects and works realized help define the ArkiZoic style. The studio is the physical place where the contamination between different fields of art and culture is a creative act. The characters that animate the space, as actors playing their role, contribute with different skills and abilities to the completion of the work, like in the cinema or theater.
LOGO – AtelierFORTE’s logo is a summary of some of the fundamental characteristics: the three axes, with the cube in the center to represent the three-dimensionality. This is the main scope of the Atelier, a renaissance FORT seen from above, with its stellar ramparts and expansion in all directions of the three arrows. The triangular shape of the logo refers to the Delta greek, original DVILIVS (from duellum, archaic form of bellum, war) by the fourth letter of the greek symbolic contents which evoke the term “port”, then opening and passage. In fact, graphing the letter Delta is based on a glyph of the alphabets of Middle Bronze Age, probably called dalt, ie door (delet in modern Judaism), based on a hieroglyph representing a port.
Since 2003 he organizes every year the summer course StugaProject within Swedish forest. In 2008 he participated to the XIVenice Architecture Biennale with the work Sleipnir Venexia. In 2009 a comprehensive retrospective of the Atelier is presented in the Hall Fencing at the Fortezza da Basso in Florence, where the stands of Sangallo stands with its 19 meter high work Sleipnir Florentia. On 12 September 2009 on the occasion of 90 years of taking from the river by Gabriele d’Annunzio and his 2500 legionaries, AtelierFORTE Nuncius Sleipnir carries out a project at the Italian Vittoriale in Gardone Riviera. The work was published in numerous Italian and foreign magazines and it witness a steady trend.
ARKIZOIC
MILANO – Il 12 Febbraio 2009 in occasione dei 200 anni della nascita di Darwin, AtelierFORTE fissa i punti fondamentali del pensiero ArkiZoic attraverso un manifesto articolato in sette punti. Quindi dal manifesto viene estratta sinteticamente una regola.ArkiZoic si ispira alle ere geologiche e in questo vuole rimarcare una continuità temporale con il Fanerozoico, l’eone nel quale si è palesata in modo esplosivo la vita sulla terra.
L’eone è un’unità geocronologica. Gli eoni nella storia terrestre sono quattro.
Adeano o Azoico (prima di 3,8 miliardi di anni fa)
Archeano o Criptozoico ( tra 3,8 e 2,5 miliardi di anni fa)
Proterozoico ( tra 2500 e 545 milioni di anni fa)
Fanerozoico (iniziato 545 milioni di anni fa)
L’eone Fanerozoico si suddivide in tre ere: il Paleozoico, il Mesozoico ed infine il Cenozoico, ovvero l’era attuale, iniziata 65 milioni di anni fa. La regola ArkiZoic oltre che una sintesi delle dinamiche progettuali di AtelierFORTE vuole essere una solida base su cui costruire il progetto nel futuro.

In Norse mythology, Valhalla is a majestic, enormous hall located in Asgard, ruled over by the god Odin. Chosen by Odin, half of those who die in combat travel to Valhalla upon death, led by valkyries, while the other half go to the goddess Freyja’s field Fólkvangr. In Valhalla, the dead join the masses of those who have died in combat known as Einherjar, as well as various legendary Germanic heroes and kings, as they prepare to aid Odin during the events of Ragnarök. Before the hall stands the golden tree Glasir, and the hall’s ceiling is thatched with golden shields. Various creatures live around Valhalla, such as the stag Eikþyrnir and the goat Heiðrún, both described as standing atop Valhalla and consuming the foliage of the tree Læraðr. Concorso Swart
All’interno della mostra Bla Bla, Swart, nuovo e-shop dedicato al design autoprodotto italiano, lancia un concorso per individuare tra i 120 prodotti esposti, l’oggetto che meglio si distingue per qualità ideativa e realizzativa, carattere innovativo ed essenzialità delle forme.
Il vincitore è individuato da una giuria d’eccezione: Alessandro Guerriero, Cesare Castelli, Duilio Forte. Riceve come premio la pubblicazione nella home page di Swart, l’inserimento all’interno della selezione dei prodotti in vendita e la promozione attraverso i suoi canali di comunicazione.

La Smart Ebike Station nel cortile della Fabbrica del Vapore
Duilio Forte ha ideato e realizzato l’allestimento della mostra Bla Bla. La serie di installazioni nascono dall’idea dell’accampamento romano, “Castra”, che viene presentato con la consueta maglia ippodamea. Una grande strada percorre tutta la lunghezza dello spazio e attraverso una serie di portali a destra e a sinistra dà accesso alle singole sezioni espositive della mostra. Al centro, intorno all’opera “Sleipnir Praetorius” si raccoglie la sezione “ArkiZoic Bellum“. Nel piazzale della Fabbrica del Vapore sorge l’opera Sleipnir Ciclofono, scultura interattiva in legno alta circa 15 metri. Entrambe le opere, Sleipnir Ciclofono e Sleipnir Pretorius appartengono alla serie Sleipnir, ispirata al leggendario cavallo di Odino, e rappresentano relativamente il 25° e 26° esemplare.
AtelierFORTE da 15 anni conduce una battaglia contro la serialità che distrugge l’arte e la creatività.
Dalla fondazione del 13 Marzo 1998, alla redazione del Manifesto ArkiZoic del 12 Febbraio 2009 e la “Dichiarazione di guerra all’industria” del 2010, AtelierFORTE si muove con attività e manifestazioni a favore della produzione indipendente. Per questo ArkiZoic Bellum si propone di raccogliere dei manufatti-arma che possono essere utilizzati contro l’omologazione industriale. Saranno presenti 33 opere ispirate alla regola ArkiZoic e accompagnate spiegazione del funzionamento dell’arma nella guerra all’industria.

Ulaola, the first online boutique of self-produced Italian design, will be structuring and managing the Milano Makers e-shop, where “Bla Bla” items can be visualized and bought by a QR code.
Swart, the on-line shop that has just presented its first selection of self produced Italian design, will launch at Fabbrica del Vapore, at the exhibition Bla Bla, a competition to identify between 120 exposed objects, the one which best distinguishes for creativity, craftsmanship quality, innovative features and essential forms. The winner will be identified by an exceptional jury, composed by Alessandro Guerriero, Cesare Castelli and Duilio Forte, and will receive as reward the publication on Swart’s home page, the admission to the Swart for sale objects and the promotion through its channels of communication. Furthermore, at the conclusion of the event, the winner will receive, as a symbolic prize, an arrow made by AtelierFORTE, as a representation of the challenge against the industrial production. ArkiZoic Project V is a solo Exhibition in Grythyttan Sweden from 25 July to 18 August 2019 at Grythytte Kvarn gallery by Kristina Henricsson.
DUILIO FORTE
Italian and Swedish artist, he graduated in architecture from Milan Polytechnic and founded AtelierFORTE.
His work is inspired by imaginary, extinct animals and especially the Scandinavian mythology through the ArkiZoic rule.
Participates in the XI and XII International Architecture Biennale of Venice and at the XXI International Milan Triennale. In 2016 ArkiZoic Project I, a solo exhibition at Biologiska Museet in Stockholm, Sweden.
There are 49 monumental wooden works in the Sleipnir series (10-15 m h), inspired by the legendary horse of Odin.
He has exhibited in Sweden, Switzerland, France, Poland, Italy, South Korea, China and the USA.
His work has been published in numerous newspapers and magazines including Dezeen, Il Corriere della Sera, La Repubblica, Madame Figaro, Domus, Interni, Life China, New York Times.
