Chronicles of AtelierFORTE
DUILIO FORTE - Artista di origine italiana e svedese, si laurea in architettura presso il Politecnico di Milano, svolge attività di ricerca nel campo dell'arte con particolare attenzione alla dimensione spaziale. La sua opera è finalizata alla realizzazione della scenografia del quotidiano, l'universo epico in cui si muovono gli esseri umani. L'esperienza pratica della tradizione svedese con l'attenzione alla natura ed alla semplicità si fondono con il grande respiro e complessità della storia e della cultura artistica italiana. Fin dall'infanzia ha vissuto il contrasto tra le due culture come stimolo per la ricerca di una sintesi creativa, una dimensione spazio temporale dove possono convivere i due mondi. Per questo lancia il 12 febbraio 2009 in occasione dei 200 anni della nascita di Darwin, il movimento ArkiZoic. Il manifesto ArkiZoic delinea i capisaldi di uno stile artistico fondato sulla centralità dello spirito vitale, di quel soffio, anemos, che da 450 milioni di anni caratterizza in modo inequivocabile il nostro pianeta. AtelierFORTE si distingue nell'uso di due materiali principali: il legno ed il ferro. MATERIALI - Il legno principalmente nello sviluppo delle grandi opere architettoniche come nella serie Sleipnir, il mitico cavallo di Odino dalle otto zampe, che si fonde con la tradizione del cavallo di Troia sia per espugnare fortezze ed arsenali, che per scivolare leggero sulla laguna di Venezia o nei laghi del Bergslagen svedese. Il ferro domina invece nella plastica scultorea. I due materiali legandosi insieme creano opere con caratteristiche speciali. Strutture leggere e al tempo stesso molto resistenti. Due materiali antichi che concorrono alla definizione di un mondo proiettato nel futuro con radici profonde nel passato, nella storia e nella tradizione. ATELIER FORTE - E' uno spazio in continuo sviluppo e mutazione dove nascono i progetti e le opere che concorrono a definire lo stile ArkiZoic. L'atelier è il luogo fisico in cui la contaminazione tra i diversi campi dell'arte e della cultura costituisce un atto creativo. I personaggi che animano gli spazi, come attori che interpretano il proprio ruolo, concorrono con varie competenze e capacità al compimento dell'opera, come avviene nel cinema o nel teatro. LOGO - Il Logo di AtelierFORTE è la sintesi di alcune delle caratteristiche fondanti: i tre assi cartesiani, con il cubo al centro per rappresentare la tridimensionalità, ovvero la principale sfera d'azione dell'Atelier, un FORTE rinascimentale visto dall'alto, con i suoi bastioni stellari e l'espansione in tutte le direzioni delle tre frecce. La forma triangolare del logo fa riferimento al Delta greco, iniziale di DVILIVS (da duellum, forma arcaica di bellum, guerra) quarta lettera dell'alfabeto greco dai contenuti simbolici che richiamano il termine "porta", quindi apertura e passaggio. Infatti graficamente la lettera Delta è basata su un glifo degli alfabeti della media Età del Bronzo, probabilmente chiamato dalt, cioè porta (delet nell'ebraico moderno), basato su un geroglifico che rappresenta una porta.Dal 2003 organizza ogni anno il corso estivo StugaProject nella foresta svedese. Nel 2008 partecipa con l’opera Sleipnir Venexia alla XI Biennale di Architettura di Venezia.
Nel 2009 un’ampia retrospettiva dell’attività dell’Atelier viene presentata all’interno della Sala della Scherma presso la Fortezza da Basso a Firenze dove sugli spalti del Sangallo svetta con i suoi 19 metri di altezza l’opera Sleipnir Florentia.
Il 12 settembre 2009 in occasione dei 90 anni della presa di fiume da parte di Gabriele d'Annunzio e dei suoi 2500 legionari, AtelierFORTE realizza l'opera Sleipnir Nuncius presso il Vittoriale degli italiani a Gardone Riviera.
I lavori, pubblicati su numerose riviste italiane ed estere, testimoniano un'evoluzione continua.
DUILIO FORTE - DVILIVS is an half Italian and half Swedish artist, he graduated in architecture at the Politecnico di Milano and conducts research in art with an emphasis on spatial dimension. His work is finalized to implementation of the design of everyday life, the epic universe in which humans move. The practical experience of the Swedish tradition with attention to the nature and simplicity come together with the large scale and complexity of Italian history, culture and art. From childhood he lived the contrast between the two cultures as a stimulus for finding a creative synthesis, a space-time dimension where the two worlds can coexist. For this on February 12, 2009 on the occasion of 200 years of Darwin's birth, hi launch the movement ArkiZoic. The ArkiZoic manifesto trace the guidelines for an artistic style based on the centrality of the spirit of life, breath, Anemos, which from 450 million years ago characterizes unequivocally the planet earth. AtelierFORTE differs in the use of two main materials: wood and iron. MATERIALS - wood is mainly used in the development of large buildings such as the series Sleipnir, the legendary eight-legged horse of Odin that blends with the tradition of Trojan horse, able to conquer fortresses and arsenals, and to slip slightly over the lagoon of Venice and lakes of Bergslagen Swedish. On the other hand the iron dominates in the plastic sculpture. By binding, these two materials together create works with special features. Lightweight structures and yet very durable. Two ancient materials that contribute to the definition of a world projected into the future with deep roots in the past, in history and tradition. Atelier Forte is a space in constant development and mutation where the projects and works realized help define the ArkiZoic style. The studio is the physical place where the contamination between different fields of art and culture is a creative act. The characters that animate the space, as actors playing their role, contribute with different skills and abilities to the completion of the work, like in the cinema or theater. LOGO - AtelierFORTE's logo is a summary of some of the fundamental characteristics: the three axes, with the cube in the center to represent the three-dimensionality. This is the main scope of the Atelier, a renaissance FORT seen from above, with its stellar ramparts and expansion in all directions of the three arrows. The triangular shape of the logo refers to the Delta greek, original DVILIVS (from duellum, archaic form of bellum, war) by the fourth letter of the greek symbolic contents which evoke the term "port", then opening and passage. In fact, graphing the letter Delta is based on a glyph of the alphabets of Middle Bronze Age, probably called dalt, ie door (delet in modern Judaism), based on a hieroglyph representing a port. Since 2003 he organizes every year the summer course StugaProject within Swedish forest. In 2008 he participated to the XIVenice Architecture Biennale with the work Sleipnir Venexia. In 2009 a comprehensive retrospective of the Atelier is presented in the Hall Fencing at the Fortezza da Basso in Florence, where the stands of Sangallo stands with its 19 meter high work Sleipnir Florentia.
